Painter Charles Colombo is the subject of
TELEDUCTION's fifth program in the Artists' Biographies documentary
series.
Charles
Colombo: Painting the Town, examines the life and
work of the Wilmington, Delaware artist who for more than
50 years has painted the people and places that define our
local area.
Charles' many watercolor images evoke memories of familiar
local subjects. His natural gift for beautiful, sensitive
line and color has been heightened through the private tutelage
of such renowned artists as Frank E. Schoonover and Charles
DeFeo. He learned his superb watercolor technique from John
W. McCoy, N.A. at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Locally
admired and collected, his watercolors are also represented
in the private collections of the late John F. Kennedy, Prince
Ranier of Monaco, the late Henry Fonda, and the Vatican. |
