National film documentary shot in western
Africa with former President Jimmy Carter and noted epidemiologist
Dr. Donald Hopkins, the film chronicles the efforts of an
international coalition to eradicate Guinea worm disease,
which affects seventeen million people. Contrasting the
spirit of the African people with the devastation caused
by this ancient disease, the film celebrates the success
of this coalition. The program aired on WHYY-TV, Philadelphia
public television.
